I won, I won, I won!

I won a contest giveaway! I am so very excited about this too.

Angie over at The Kids are Alright hosted a giveaway on her blog for a bag organizer.

I entered to win, as I sometimes do on the blogs I read. Until today, I had never won.

Now, Angie is family {mom's cousin's wife}, but I am pretty sure I won fair and square, because Angie is cool like that. No funny business up in here. Not Up in Here!

This will come in pretty handy with organizing the bags I carry with diapers, pacifiers, wipes, wallet, cell get the idea, especially if you are a mom.

Go visit Angie's blog, she is a super stylish working mama who gets to travel to fun exotic places, like NYC and Phoenix, and she used to live in NYC when she was an intern for David Letterman and the Jerry Springer Show. She is fun people.

Thanks Angie!

The Help

She charges 1 box of Goldfish crackers per hour for her cleaning services. Well worth it!

$100 Home Project :: Master Bath {Before}

Well, March is 3/4 of the way over, and I have made some progress on my first $100 home project. I started 'PINNING' ideas and gathering supplies within my self-imposed budget of $100.

Here are a few before pictures to show you what I started with.

We don't normally keep our cleaning supplies in the tub. This was right before I scrubbed the bath.

So as you can see, not bad. Not great either. When we built, we picked neutral, warm color schemes that had some life to it, but that we could work around when we could.

Next up, I will show you the design plan, and what my $100 could get me.

That is a onesie, leg warmers, and flip flops.

You can see this new fashion collection on the runways this spring.

The real reason she is wearing the leg warmers is because she is zipping all around and likes to run on the driveway. She got a little skinned knee, so we got creative with her play wear.

We spent a lot of time outside this weekend. The weather was beautiful, and we got to use our new sidewalk chalk and bubbles.

What was everyone else up to?

Grandma's Little Helper

My mom has a way about her. She is so patient and good with the kids. Avery especially.

I find myself getting too easily frustrated when Avery wants to be held, or to "help" me in the kitchen. She is always underfoot and I get paranoid about the hot stove/oven, and getting dinner done on time. She has learned to assist with loading and unloading the dishwasher too.

Then I see my mom whip up a ham dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, buns, and Avery has been "helping" her the whole time.

I need 'Mom' lessons from my own Mom.

It is a gentle reminder that Avery just wants to be with me, like me, and helping me. She won't always want to be like this, and yes, dinner may take a little longer to get ready, but in the end, it is worth it.

After the delicious dinner, Avery even helped clean up. Mom called me into the kitchen to see this:

She was taking her job very seriously.

We may have a 3rd generation 'Suzy Homemaker' in the making...

"Dad, I just threw that water on the ground. Little help please..."

Baby Shower Favors & Wayne's World

We recently hosted a baby shower for our friends Brent and Amber. They are due to have the little guy in a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure we could shower them with some gifts first.

They are having a monkey themed room, so I thought this little favor was appropriate. I used the coordinating thank-you cards to the invitation, with some small favor bags, and runts candy.

Avery was all about helping Amber open her gifts.

It was fun afternoon spent with friends. We can't wait to meet the little guy.

I already have plans for his and Avery's future Halloween costumes.

We do watch the movie frequently enough...

Go Speed Racer

Oops. The one day we don't watch the news in the morning and hear where the mobile speed cameras are...I get busted by one.

I don't dispute it. I was speeding. In fact, I think they were nice and rounded down. I am pretty sure I was going faster than what they clocked me at. Not that I should have been. I was in the wrong.

$65 later...lesson learned.

Foot in Mouth Disease

Anyone else suffer from this?

Case in point: I saw a picture of my aunt Carol and her daughter Sami. It was before Carol went off on active duty to Iraq. I thought it was an awesome picture of the two of them, and that Carol looked beautiful.

So what do I say when I point this out to Carol?

Me: Carol when did you take this picture?
Carol: At Fort so-and-so, before I left for Iraq
Me: I love it! You look awful!
Carol: {looking at me puzzled}
Me: OMG...I am such a spazz. I meant to say you look awesome and beautiful! It came out awful...oh god.
Carol: You are a spazz.
Me: I am so sorry! I really do think you look beautiful!

This year at Peek-A-Boo?

It's our new Mantra!
